In general, the price of Mokume Gane and Damascus Stainless Steel rings is determined by the cost of the materials used, as well as, by the amount of time it takes to make the ring.
Materials pricing is dependent on several factors including type and amount of precious metal alloys used, ring size, overall ring width, as well as the inclusion of optional ring elements such as liners, edges, and channels. The inclusion of precious gemstones also will add to the cost of the ring.
Andrew Nyce Designs offers ring elements in a variety of precious metal alloys. Channels will use more precious metal alloy compared to liners, which, in turn, will use more precious metals than edges or inlaid bands. Consequently, depending upon which precious metal alloys you select, the optional ring elements may significantly affect the final cost of your ring.
A comparative cost of the precious metal alloys offered by Andrew Nyce Designs is provided below:

Because of the volatility of the precious metal markets, All Price Are Subject to Change.
To provide some perspective on precious metals pricing, we have included a live feed from Kitco of the spot market prices for precious metals. The precious metal alloys we use in our rings are derived from raw material precious metals. For example, 18 karat gold is 75% pure gold and 25% other metals. Price changes for precious metals impact the price we must charge for rings containing precious metals alloys. Please note that the percent of change in precious metal prices does not correspond on a one-to-one basis with the change in prices for our rings.
