What is an Embraced Collection ring?
The Embraced Collection is a Mokume Gane or Damascus Stainless Steel band that is inlaid into a Gold (yellow, white or red), Palladium-enhanced Sterling Silver, Platinum, Palladium, or Stainless Steel channel. A channel is a single, solid structure comprised of a both a liner and two edge elements.

What is a Comfort Fit?
Comfort Fit rings are designed with a rounded inside so they slide on with ease and fit more comfortably on your finger. We offer the option of either selecting a Comfort fit or not having one. No Comfort Fit is essentially a flat inner ring profile. Comfort Fit provides varying degrees of rounding on the inside of the ring. The degree of Comfort Fit is proportional to the size and width of the ring.

What is a half round ring profile?
A ring profile refers to the curvature of the top of the ring. In a true half round, the profile, or radius, of the top of the ring equals half the width of the ring. However, this guideline has limitations. For example, a 6mm wide half round ring would have a thickness of 3mm, which would be very uncomfortable to wear. We offer half round profiles, but, in general, we make domed ring profiles. Domed profiles have a gentle radius of curvature consistent with the overall proportions of the ring.

What are the widest edges possible for one of your rings?
From a design standpoint, the widest edge width available for a custom-designed ring is between 2mm and 3mm. However, we prefer to match the edge width proportionally to the overall width of the ring. Our BOLD Wide Men's rings are the exception to this design rule; edges are 1.75mm wide.

Why would I want a liner?
You have the option of ordering a liner for any rings from Andrew Nyce Designs. Liners are most often an aesthetic choice; they are not needed for durability or comfort. Liners can be made in any color palette, either from Gold, Platinum, Palladium-enhanced Sterling Silver, or Stainless Steel. For Mokume Gane rings, precious metal liners can be used to accentuate the colors in the Mokume Gane band. People with very sensitive skin may react to Sterling Silver. If you have this type of sensitivity, you may want to select a liner for your ring.

Can I order a ring with only edges?
Yes. You must fill out a Custom Quote Form for either Mokume or Damascus in order to select this option. Edges enable the Mokume or Damascus band to stand out by framing it either in warm, vibrant colors (yellow or red gold) or cool, distinguished colors (white gold, platinum or palladium). Framing the band with gold, platinum or palladium only adds to its rarity, making it more of an expression of your personality and character.

Can your rings be sized by a local jeweler?
We prefer to do the sizing unless we can provide step-by-step instructions to a jeweler of your choosing.
